From Sydney, Australia originally, have lived in the US since, now residing in New Jersey.
Well traveled from a young age, I went into the travel industry instead of preschool education.
However the yearning has always been there.
After being blessed with my daughter, it was a natural transition.
Music and the arts have always been a big passion.
Tying the children's books and songs together and working with the amazing collaborators I've found has been such a treat...I hope you all enjoy!
And, may all of our little light inside, grow so brightly it helps to illuminate the world!
About The Try, Try Butterfly - the Birth of a Super Hero! ... in case You were Wondering..
How it happened - a note from the author:
After trying in vain to catch my daughter on the couch years ago, to blow her nose when she had a bit of a cold, I found myself making the effort while speaking in Dr. Seuss-ish tongue.
It sounded pretty good, so I wrote it down.
Then following some research, I found there were no books teaching young children how to blow their nose! And thus, the beginning of
"Nose Blowing 101 for Super Kids" was born.
So I developed it further and we had a fun few sessions doing pictures with lovely friends who posed to help create the scenes.
The butterfly mascot was added as an empathetic, one-butterfly cheering squad, next to the real-life characters.
The wonderfully talented and patient illustrator is Maruf Hassan.
The butterfly eventually found a name, "The Try, Try Butterfly."
Try, Try gets her mojo from the Monarch butterfly, and helps teach kids good life lessons based on its own super-powers of endurance, inate intelligence, and strength of spirit.
And we can help children learn empathy
also in helping the Monarch population.
Try, Try became a star of her own. She helps children learn that if they keep trying and
practicing at something, though it will be hard and clumsy at first, they will keep getting better
and better at whatever it is!
